A Special Girl

Joann has been asking me daily, "Mom, what can I do for you?" I just love how thoughtful and sweet she is. She makes everything so much fun. I love how she stands at the top of the stairs every morning and shouts, "Mom, is it morning?" Apparently, it's not morning until I say so! She dances every day. She loves to listen to the Nutcracker and do "ballet" while wearing her Snow White costume. Joann will color for hours. When I leave her at the playplace at the gym, they always tell me afterwards, "She colored for a long time." What an attention span. Art class is her favorite at preschool. She gets very focused. She's really excited about having a sister, and about naming her "Princess Aurora." At the ultrasound, she was absolutely unsurprised to find out it was a girl. She just knew. I can't wait for their friendship to grow. She often sings and talks to the baby, which I adore. Lately, she's named two of her footy pjs, "Snuggle pajamas," and will climb into our laps for snuggles at night. Since she's not naturally snuggly, I make sure those pjs are clean every night. Every one who meets Joann is impressed, partly because she looks like a baby and talks like an adult. We are headed out to visit family in two days, and I can't wait for her to see her cousins and grandparents.

Happy Visit

Blogging while being pregnant is not my thing, apparently. Can we say, a little behind?
Amber and Janet came for a visit in November and we played hard: shopping, eating out, more shopping, visiting the glass blowing museum. Thanks for all the shoes, Mom! If you ever go to Lynn's Paradise Cafe in Louisville, bring your camera. Such a fun restaurant. Joann was really excited about the legs coming out of the wall and the cups of little animals to line up and name. We were excited about the sweet potato fries.
