In case no one looks at the Entertain Your Brain blog anymore

This is one of those life-changing movies that inspires and uplifts. It's a Christian film, so some of the acting is awkward, but mostly very good. It will make you bawl, and then make you want to be a better spouse. I think everyone should have a copy. It's at RedBox right now.

Valentine's Day Playgroup

My dear friend Andrea organized a fun playgroup party. The kids exchanged Valentines, ran around in a friend's amazing basement, and decorated sugar cookies. Joann loved it!

Journey of Love

If you're the jealous type, stop reading and don't look at these pictures. Your husband will thank you.

I am still in a state of shock at what Devin pulled off yesterday. He sent me to drop Joann off at the sitter's house and this is what I came back to: A beautiful man in a tail suit and cravat, waiting to seat me at a candlelit table drawn up to the fire, set with china, roses, and stemware. He even themed the evening: Journey of Love. He played a cd of Journey love songs (I love Journey, BTW), and wrote me a poem about our own journey of love. This is what he served:

Chicken Kiev, green beans and bell peppers with almonds, and mashed potatoes with garlic sauce. No, he didn't order out. He made this from scratch. And it tasted amazing.

Yes, that's my husband.
This is the most divine dessert imaginable: Black Tie Mousse Cake. It has layers of chocolate cake, chocolate mousse, italian cream, and ganache. At my bridal shower, people wrote advice and quotes on a pair of aprons. During the shower, I wrote on Devin's apron that "Lindsay's favorite dinner is Black Tie Mousse Cake." If you want to try it, go to the Olive Garden. Or get your husband to spend 3 hours making it, whichever is easier.

And after that amazing dining experience, he took me ballroom dancing. Valentine's Day is officially my favorite holiday.

I am grateful

for a garage so I don't have to remove snow and ice off my car in the morning.

that my husband is doing so well in school.

to my grandma for teaching me how to play the piano, and to my mom for driving me there each week for lessons.

that Joann is happy even when she's sick.

that winter will be over someday.

that I get to stay home with Joann.

for sweet family and friends who stay connected.

Loving YouTube

I finally figured out a way to get video on my blog! (Thanks Danelle.) For some reason, my videos will post to YouTube but not straight on to my blog, so I just added a video bar gadget. Check it out!
