Stay Inside

We've been in Texas nearly 4 weeks and have spent very little of that time outside of houses. We've been up to Dallas twice to hang out with Devin's brother and then stay at his house while he wasn't there. Each morning we'd try to go for a walk, which would last maybe 5 minutes until Joann's face turned pink and the back of Rory's head was wet with sweat. (This girl has inherited Devin's sweat glands for sure. I went to pick her up after a nap and thought maybe she'd  been crying big tears while lying down--that's how just the back of her head was wet. Turns out she sweats only on the back of her head.) Devin started work on Monday. 14 hours on the first day. I am going to have to adjust to this. He hated coming home after the girls were in bed.

I have no pictures because the camera cord is packed away somewhere, but Rory has learned to walk in Texas. And she's practicing constantly, even getting so good as to carry big  books while walking. Seems like her molars are coming in because she's chomping on her finger shoved way back in her mouth. We are staying with friends John and Deana. Aurora follows John around complaining until he picks her up. She just loves men. Sometimes she won't even come to me once she's made a male friend.
