We got a great tip from a resourceful lady in our ward for updating light fixtures--spray paint. We found $37 "polished brass" fans at Lowe's, sprayed them with a hammered bronze paint, and we now have cheap fans that look worth $150! I also sprayed an ugly lamp (now beautitful) and my fireplace. Bronze is in!
